This week consisted of travels, apartments and visits.
We started off on an apartment circuit on Sunday after church. We drove to Mulhouse. Ed had to put in new smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. At the same time we needed to do repairs if need and an apartment checks. We did a five apartment swing through Mulhouse, Belfort, Epinal and Toul. All went well and we finished everything by Tuesday. We got back by Tuesday afternoon.
We had the young Elders over for supper. This was Elder Gagnon's last day in Charleville. He was heading to Le Havre on the Normandy coast. He is a great missionary and will do well wherever he is. We will miss him here in Charleville. On Wednesday morning we took the Elders to the gare to catch their train.
On Friday Cheryl and Neil McDermid arrived for a visit. They flew into Luxembourg. It was great to see them and have them with us. Ed had to go pick them up as Lynn wasn't feeling well. He combined some apartment business with the trip and they were all back by suppertime. We had rice and veggie burritos which were great.
We are having a great visit together - showing all the many sights of Charleville and France. On Saturday Ed and Neil headed to Dunkerque to help out at the refugee camp. They helped out by chopping firewood. It was our Stake's activity and lots got done to help out. They had a great trip together. Neil saw a lot of France and enjoyed the green fields, the farms and the lovely villages.
At the same time Lynn and Cheryl attended a Relief Society activity. They had a cooking class at church and brought home some Taboulé said which was great. They also assisted with a haircut, and said goodbyes to our friend Joy who is moving to Bordeaux. We have been enjoying the pastries and baking since Neil and Cheryl arrived.
We have plans for their stay. We are looking forward to sharing this beautiful country with them. They will be helping us do some of our missionary commitments. We will keep right on rolling in this area.
We love having them here. They are such good friends. All is going well. We look forward to their time with us. These pictures of our walk down to the water this afternoon. France had just won the soccer game. Whoo-hoo.
Well, that's all we have for this week.
Au revoir de la France,
Lyndi-lou and Eddie, too
